Good Character? 

The word "good" comes from the word "God".  Good character is that which shows qualities we find in God Himself--truthfulness, faithfulness, love, concern for others, mercy, compassion, and so on.  What better source, then, for learning how to have good character than in "The Good Book"--the Holy Bible?   Our "Character Building from the Bible" lessons have proven very popular in Ghanaian schools, and now we are sharing them in Uganda as well. 

Holiday camps

A Holiday Bible camp is a fun way to learn more about the Bible and its character-building stories.  We sing zesty songs, act out stories, play games, memorize Bible verses by singing and dancing to them, increase our vocabulary, and enjoy arts and crafts and many other activities.  In some areas we include a snack or a meal or a first aid clinic, according to need.  Children LOVE the camps!

Youth Sports Ministry

Almost all Ugandan youth love to play football.  Besides developing skill, getting exercise, and having fun, many good character qualities can be developed and enhanced through the sports ministry:

• The value of teamwork
• "How to" cooperate, working as a team
• Good sportsmanship--treating others with respect whether our team is winning or losing
• Putting forth one's best effort
• The value of practice over time
• The value of keeping in shape
• The value of building our bodies through a nutritious diet
• The value of honesty
  
  ECM Sports Ministry is currently in development & will be open to all youth who live in the areas where we have it and who agree to follow our rules.
